Boneland: Building a Dolphin Skeleton Part 1

About a year ago, I had the idea to try to put together all the bones in a whole dolphin skeleton. I think bones are the best, and I have always wanted to figure out how to pull this off! It is really early in the process, but here is what has happened so far:
After postmortem necropsy (an animal autopsy) on an adult male bottlenose dolphin this past summer 2018, bones were cleaned up and wrapped in cheesecloth before being buried underground for approximately 5 weeks. The soil was a dry and sandy one, and the cheesecloth gave room for the buggies to come help along the soft tissue decomposition/cleaning process!
